And the Award Goes To...

What do the City of Brotherly Love and the Pearl of the Orient have in common?  They are the winners of the 2015 Columbia Alumni Association (CAA) Regional Club Award of Excellence!

Created in 2012, the CAA Regional Club Award of Excellence recognizes the leadership and dedication of Columbia's alumni leaders worldwide in fostering vibrant Columbia communities across the globe through programs, events, conferences, and opportunities in their local communities.  With over 320,000+ alumni (and counting!), the CAA's 100+ clubs and alumni leadership in cities across the globe play critical roles in building upon our shared Columbia connections, long after we leave campus.

This year, the international award goes to the Columbia University Alumni Association of Hong Kong (CUAAHK) and the domestic (U.S.) award goes to the Columbia University Club of Philadelphia.

About the Columbia University Club of Philadelphia

The Columbia University Club of Philadelphia (CUCP) is a dedicated partner to Columbia University and the Columbia Alumni Association. In 2014, the club expanded the region’s borders to engage new alumni while continually providing diverse programming to increase the participation of alumni from all ages. The club supported the local community with large volunteer efforts as well as welcomed University professors to the region to continue the intellectual conversations experienced on campus. Philadelphia celebrated Columbia Athletics, networked with the local business club, and discovered Impressionism with Columbia Arts Access. The club’s leadership has maintained a continued focus to maintain alumni connections to the University and to one another.

About the Columbia University Alumni Association of Hong Kong (CUAAHK)

The Columbia University Alumni Association of Hong Kong (CUAAHK) has provided a strong and unified Columbia community in Hong Kong since its establishment in 1982. The Association, one of only 12 original alumni clubs, has served as an important and inspiring example to the many alumni communities that have followed in recent years. In 2013, Hong Kong hosted the inaugural and successful bi-annual Columbia Alumni Leaders Weekend in Asia.  With over 90 alumni clubs around the world today, the Association continues to be a leader in the global alumni community with consistent efforts to bring alumni, students, parents and friends of Columbia together with diverse events and programs, as well as  nominating leaders from their community to receive the Columbia Alumni Association's highest award, the Alumni Medal. Without the many dedicated and passionate volunteers and leaders throughout the years, the Association would not be what it is today.

Congratulations to this year's winners!
